Travel Registered Nurse – PCU (High Acuity)

Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a high-acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports medical oncology patients requiring PCU-level monitoring in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Schedule:
• Day (3x12-hour shifts): 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Night (3x12-hour shifts): 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Variable weekends and holidays based on unit needs
• No set or blocked scheduling
• Self-schedule requests accepted prior to final schedule posting
Compensation:
• Gross: $2,359 per week
• W2: $24.50 per hour
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week
• Locals accepted at the same rate
Contract Details:
• Start Date: February 23, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling
• Orientation:
– Week 1: Monday–Friday dayshift
– Week 2: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
Unit Overview:
• High-acuity PCU with medical oncology focus
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• PCU patient ratio: 1:3
• Med/Surg Telemetry ratio: 1:4–1:5
• Heavy emphasis on infection prevention and patient safety
Clinical Focus:
• Solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology patients
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Blood product administration
• Central line and port management
• Rapid response and escalation of care
• Minimum of 2 years of PCU or high-acuity nursing experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but NOT required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• High-acuity PCU experience required
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Valid compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
