In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. Summary
The Senior Project Analyst manages a wide variety of complex activities in support of project or program planning, execution, and sustainability maintenance. Performs detailed analysis and interpretation of complex data from various business systems or external data sources. Performs or leads start-to-finish project planning, scheduling, monitoring, reporting activities, and special projects for departmental to cross-functional business groups. May be responsible for aspects of contract management. May lead a small team of peers and mentor less experienced or new project analysts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leverages organizational project management experience and subject matter expertise to analyze, develop, and coordinate plans for assigned programs or projects. Develops and maintains project planning networks for complex projects.
- Acts as FM&T point-of-contact for internal and external customer projects as assigned.
- Reports status of project plans and collaborates with project step owners and other stakeholders to assure commitments and timelines are met.
- Constructively contributes to developing, implementing, and/or negotiating changes to project plans with internal and external customers.
- Escalates issues, initiates customer contact when warranted, and partners with team members to develop, present, and implement appropriate recovery or corrective action plans.
- Compiles data, analyzes results, prepares and maintains documentation, and proposes and implements recommendations, for a variety of organizational requirements, projects, and special studies.
- Effectively prioritizes and manages concurrent multi-project priorities.
- Understands department systems and functions, identifies opportunities for efficiency and improvement, and initiates, participates in and /or leads, implementing continuous improvement actions.
- May perform contract management activities related to establishing/setup, maintaining, or closing of customer order contracts.
- May compile, coordinate, monitor and maintain financial and budgeting reports.
- Mentors and coaches less experienced and/or newer project analysts and other team members.
You Must Have
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning, management, or similar role/discipline
- Bachelor’s degree or, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum 2 additional years of experience above minimum (5+2) in a directly related field
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
We Value
- Experience working in a construction and/or relocation environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word) Knowledge with constuction management software
- Experience identifying, analyzing, recommending, and implementing resolutions of project and process-related problems
- Knowledge of commercial or governmental budgetary processes and guidelines
- knowledge of schedule alignment and coordination (Oracle Primavera P6 is a plus)
- Demonstrated oral and written communications skills; ability to effectively interface and build strong relationships with internal and external customers
- Demonstrate proficient data management skills
- Detail oriented; possess professional presence, and problem-solving and decision-making judgement
